Comedy in the Garden
When ‘comedian’ Gabriel Rossi invited us over to meet his father, he warned us that his dad just loved to talk, and as passionate as they get when it comes to organic gardening, we are talking traditional gardening folks!
Well he wasn’t far off the mark about his dad being so passionate let alone wanting to share everything he knows about gardening. But Gabriel did forget to mention that he himself is a chip off the old block, so when it came to his turn, he wasn’t short of a word or two either.
But I must say that Gabriel shared some great jokes that kept us in stiches all day whilst we tried to shoot a show with his dad. And after a glass of Luigi’s home made wine, doesn’t matter how bad the joke was, we couldn’t stop laughing.
Luigi’s is a typical suburban block in the heart of Glenroy, even if he wanted to plant one hundred tomatoes, he wouldn’t be able to cause of the limited space, but if you see the amount of tomato seedlings he has, you’d think he was producing commercial quantities.
When I asked why so many, he replies, “I give some to the lady across the road, some to the lady down the street, some to the other lady over there and any other lady who wants it.” Not bad for a man in his seventies. It must be all the organic produce that he eats that keeps him feeling young and active.
