Enviro Soldiers

Hi everyone,
I’m Wayne Water and I’m here to teach about water, how to save water and how to use it wisely, and I’ll even give you some good tips that you can share around with all your family and friends.
It’s not only the rain water that we should be collecting and storing, we must learn to recycle all the house water too.
Water that you collect from the house is called grey water which you can use on your lawns and certain garden plants.
Water has become a very important for everyone so make sure that mum and dad are not using soaps with strong chemicals this way you can still wash happily and it safe to use the grey water in the garden too.

1. Add mulch like garden straw, sugar cane mulch and pea straw to your garden and you will reduce the amount of water your garden needs by at least 30%.

2. Use environmentally friendly soaps to do all your washing to avoid all those nasty chemicals and then you can use the grey water from the laundry and shower on all your plants.
3. Place shade cloth over your water barrels to stop mosquitos breeding in them. Mosquitos love to breed in water that’s not moving.

Every shower you have will give you at least five toilet flushes, so connect your shower outlet to recycle the water back into your toilet.

Connecting the washing machine water to a pipe to water your lawn will keep the grass green all year around.
Adding lots of mulch to your garden will reduce the amount of water the plants need by at least 30%.
Use plastic pots with the bottoms cut out and place them into the ground around small plants to help hold the water in.
Write to me and share your great Water saving tips and ideas so everyone else can learn about water too!
